More than half of Chinese investors are positive about United States property investment prospects following Donald Trump’s election victory, says a new survey.

In fact, 53% are more likely to buy US property, according to a survey of 500 mainland Chinese citizens by a consultancy that helps Asians buy US properties.

Only 16% of respondents are now less likely to purchase United States real estate.

Respondents respect Mr Trump as a dealmaker and businessman and as a strong negotiator and they believe he is likely to strengthen the US economy and so benefit the property market, the survey suggests.

The Consultancy says, “Principles and ideologies will be less important compared to expected business returns.”

With prices in many Chinese cities hitting a ceiling and the Chinese yuan losing ground, mainland investors are keen to invest in stable markets such as the United States.
