A high-level team of Chinese investors group in housing sector called on Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at his office on Saturday and offered investment of one billion dollars in two mega housing schemes in the province.

The group participants also lauded decision of the provincial government to launch mega housing schemes, with availability of all basic civic amenities, including safety and security in view of the residential requirements of the ever-increasing population of the province especially in the provincial metropolis, and assured all out support in implementing it.

These schemes include Mega Education City M-1, Nowshera, and Mega Sports City, Peshawar, while New City Abbottabad and New City and Tourism Resort in Booni, Chitral, may also be given consideration.

Talking to the group led by Ma Shi Jing, head of Shanghai Company, Pervez Khattak made it clear that though both the mega projects would be big cities with all housing facilities and availability of basic amenities on scientific lines, these were named as education and sports cities with sole aim to project importance of education and sports by the PTI-led coalition government.
